June 2026 Ministry Update from the Johnson City Baptist Center

All of you are either in the middle of your VBS, have already had it, or your church is having it later this summer. The Johnson City Baptist Center is in all three of these positions! Last week began two months of teaching Vacation Bible School at the Baptist Center. Many of you will be joining us with your church during this time. We ask that you remember us in prayer as the Word and God’s love are shared with the children in our community this summer.

It was exciting and busy with the first week of our VBS/Backyard Bible Club starting with up to 27 children. We were blessed to welcome Mountain View Baptist leading us last week. Other groups coming to serve this summer will be: Child Evangelism Fellowship, Southwestern Baptist, our Holston Association Interns, Mount Zion Baptist, Calvary Baptist Erwin, Trinity Baptist, and Boone Trail Baptist.

Also, we hope to be able to make needed improvements on our playground in the weeks ahead. We are grateful for all of the churches who have contributed to making this happen. Parts and equipment have been ordered, and we may put out a plea for workers to help us set up the playground. We would appreciate any assistance that you can offer, from staining wood, installing parts, to laying down mulch. Please join in this project when the call is sent out for help.

Prayer is needed also for the families of the children we teach at the Baptist Center . We ask that you pray for them to be open to and respond to the sharing of the Gospel. Physical and economical needs are great, and many will share with us the needs that they face. But, we pray for them to seek the Lord in their spiritual needs.

As the Bible Truth is taught this summer, we pray that many will learn about and accept Jesus. “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9 (ESV).
